Pieter-Hendrik is an admitted Attorney and Notary Public who leads the litigation and dispute resolution practice at Nienaber Attorneys.

He earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the North-West University in 2019, followed by his LLB in 2020 and completed his practical vocational training at Nienaber Attorneys.

Known for his dedication to justice and his ability to find answer to complex legal questions, Pieter-Hendrik is passionate about the law and about delivering exceptional legal services. He takes pride in offering clients personalised and effective legal solutions, aligned with their unique needs and interests. His work is marked by meticulous research, attention to detail and the unique ability to fight both fiercely and ethically for positive outcomes for his clients.

Pieter-Hendrik has a keen interest in Property Law, Law of Contracts, Administrative Law, International Law, Private International Law and Constitutional Law and has demonstrated his ability to navigate a range of practice areas through his early career.

He has hands-on experience in the Magistrates’ Court and High Court and assisted in cases before the Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court. The legal acumen and strategic thinking skills he has built to date is testament to his potential to become a leading legal professional in his field.

Beyond his professional achievements, Pieter-Hendrik is deeply committed to community service and pro bono work. His active involvement with various NPO’s underscores his dedication to giving back to society and supporting those in need.

Relevant experience

  • Represented indigent clients in defence of a challenge to property ownership which includes complex considerations regarding the inheritance of property under the Black Administration Act and the Upgrading of Land Tenure Act;
  • Successfully represented and advised primary caregivers in an application for guardianship of two minor children;
  • Acted as local correspondent for a Cape Town-based NPO to assist a well-known environmental organisation in review proceedings against the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment;
  • Represented and advised a prominent retirement home on matters relating to contractual issues and litigation;
  • Briefed by a property development group to spearhead a portfolio of eviction matters in relation to properties under illegal occupation;
  • Key member of the legal team who successfully represented of a multinational pharmaceutical company in various litigious matters in proceedings before the High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court;
  • Assisted in the successful renegotiation of the terms of franchise agreements with a multinational automotive manufacturing group on behalf of a group of 63 franchisees.
